The Town of Orono Landfill, located on Taylor Road off Forest Avenue, will be open to Orono residents who have purchased the annual access permit  (info on getting a window sticker here) to dispose of acceptable material without paying the per cubic yard fees.

The “no ticket” weekend will be November 5th, 6th & 7th from 8am - 4pm each day.

Annual access permits must be purchased from the Town Office prior to using the landfill at a cost of $25 (residential) or $250 (commercial).

New permits are valid through December 31, 2022 and come with two disposal tickets (with a total value of $50/residential or $100/commercial use).

The following items are accepted at the landfill:
♦ Household and furniture items (NO TVs, monitors, batteries, fluorescent tubes or computers)
♦ Boards, debris, metal (items must be separated at the landfill) (NO auto engines or car bodies)
♦ White goods (i.e. stoves, micro- waves, refrigerators, air-conditioning units and such are accepted)

Year round, the landfill accepts leaves, brush, grass clippings, and garden waste at the landfill at no additional charge for those with a window sticker (info on getting a window sticker here). The same is true for scrap metal, non-freon-containing white goods (ovens, microwaves), leaves and brush, clothing, towels, bedding, and footwear. There is a one ticket charge for anything that holds refrigerant, like a fridge, freezer, or AC unit.
